ACTIVITY

The Professional Promotion Office for Students and Graduates Career Service in Koszalin is run by KUT's students and graduates Association "Millennium" in cooperation with Provincial Labour Board, District Labour Board and Koszalin University of Technology. Our Office was launched on the 4th of February, 2002 within acting at Association The Academic Centre for Graduates' Careers and Promotion.

The Career Service at Koszalin University of Technology is a member of Polish Network of Career Services and fulfil thereby all standards and criteria laid to such professional institution.

Careers Services are arising all over the world-in Great Britain and Ireland, the USA, Canada, Australia. They are tens to about one hundred years old.

Activity of these institutions is strictly bound with high schools' activity especially with functions they fulfil on the market economy.

MAIN TARGETS

Professional students and graduates' promotion and preparation to enter on the labour market. Enabling employers to get directly qualified employees, creating chances to realize career's path for as many graduates as possible. Formation graduate's image as the appropriate employee for the company.

WHAT DO CAREER SERVICES DO?AND FOR WHOM?

Career Services are the mediator between graduates and the labour market. They gather information about current requirements and employers' needs and they pass them to students and graduates.

Career Services serve such help as:

  1. Professional group and individual advising for students and graduates:
    • valuing professional gifts, advising in choosing career's professional path
    • helping in introducing to employers (preparation for searching a job, writing a curriculum vitae and covering letter, interviewing, carrying on earnings negotiations);
  2. Support information about labour market (about companies, selection procedure, enrolment's plan, sections, products, etc.) and possibilities to raise professional, language, qualifications, scholarships in the country and abroad, postgraduate studies;
  3. Active search, classify and provide access to permanent, temporary job offers as volunteers and proposals to be on probation, intership in the country and abroad;
  4. Carry on data base about students and graduates who are looking for a job-they have a chance to select people who have specified gifts and skills;
  5. Organize students and graduates straight contacts with employers through informational appointments in companies, organizing Job Fairs, companies' presentation at high schools tutorials, conferences, etc.;
  6. Study fates and monitor graduates' careers and inform school authorities about tendencies observed on the labour market to form desired on the market educational profile.;
  7. Enable using educational Polish universities' power in the range of expertise and technologies;
  8. Take care of good image of universities inside and outside of the academic environment;
  9. Promote Career Service's ideas and contribute to award them at different high schools;
